You will need a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. Acceptable forms include a California driver's license or state ID, U.S. passport or passport card, military ID, or a foreign passport. Photocopies and expired IDs cannot be accepted under California law.
A valid government-issued photo ID is required by California law for notarization. If you do not have one, there is an alternative — two credible witnesses who personally know you and have their own valid ID can appear with you at the appointment and vouch for your identity. Both witnesses must be present, sign the notary journal, and present their own valid government-issued ID. Please let us know in advance if this situation applies to you so we can prepare accordingly.
No — and this is important. Most documents must be signed in front of the notary. Please bring your documents unsigned unless you have been specifically told otherwise. If you have already signed, let us know in advance so we can advise you on how to proceed.

Yes. We regularly visit hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and care centers throughout the Bay Area. If your loved one is unable to travel, we will come to them. Please call us to arrange these visits.
That is completely okay and very common. Describe the document and what it is for when you submit your request and we will help point you in the right direction. If the document does not specify the type of notarization required, we may ask you to contact the requesting party for clarification before we proceed.
